ODONATA INVENTORY AND DISTRIBUTION IN COLOMBIA

Colombia is recognized as one of the world’s megadiverse country, with unexplored ecosystems which include new species with relevant information we do not know yet. Finding information and make available is crucial to conserve them.

MORPH-ECOLOGICAL VARIATIONS IN LARVAL DEVELOPMENT

Odonata larval development is known apparently. However, particular variations are unknown for Neotropical species. We research on different projects in order to know those variations.

DEALING WITH GLOBAL WARMING

Dragonflies are extremely susceptible organisms to the environmental changes. We investigate about the impact of variation in temperature and the response of some species address these variations.

PRIORITIES FOR CONSERVATION

Currently, conservation evaluations for some species is non-existing or is out of focus because of the lack of information. New methodologies are used to re-evaluate conservation status and from there, to generate new draft decisions to protecting species.

ECO-PHYSIOLOGY

We research about individuals’ response on pressures generated by biotic and abiotic factors, parasites and intra- and inter-specific interactions.

SYSTEMATIC AND EVOLUTION

Relevant information about variation of characters and relationship between species can be found, showing how characters have changed throughout evolutionary history and how they help to understand whether groupings generated by researchers are really developing in nature.
